Masterclasses for Schools
Masterclasses are led by Charlotte Peters, the Creative Projects Officer and Youth Theatre Leader of Theatre Royal Windsor. Charlotte also runs her own theatre production company, Peters Productions, and has directed and produced in London, at several regional venues, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and on theatrical tour of the Ivy League Colleges in the US.
Directing Plays and Musicals
A practical guide to directing focusing on a range of necessary skills including: script editing; casting; blocking; character development; the relationship between the actor and director; and polishing for performance. After a general introduction to directing, the group will then be given script excerpts, taking it in turns to direct each other using the characterisation and blocking skills they have acquired during the session.
Producing Small-Scale Plays and Musicals
A how-to guide for potential producers covering a variety of skills including: choosing the play or musical; acquiring the rights; booking the venue; coordinating the technical team; running the press and marketing campaign; organising the auditions and rehearsals; putting together the programme; compiling the budget; and ensuring everything goes to plan during production week! If required, information can also be given about producing at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Getting Into The Theatre Industry
Whether individuals are interested in performing, directing, producing, front of house or backstage this session discusses the choices available to potential theatre professionals. Information will be given on drama schools and training courses as well as ways of working in the industry without training first and also the most useful job and networking websites and mailing lists.
Each masterclass costs £100 for a maximum of 20 students and takes can place on a Tuesday or Thursday at your venue at a time to suit your convenience. Participants will be given information sheets with everything discussed in the session and a list of useful websites and contacts.
