Songtime Theatre Arts is proud to present a youth theatre adaptation of this best-loved musical, set against the miners’ strike of 1984.
To celebrate Billy Elliot The Musical’s five glorious years in the West End, for the first time the producers are offering schools and youth groups an opportunity to stage the show themselves, with a version of the West End script specially written for children of all ages. Songtime Theatre Arts is
thrilled to be part of ‘Billy Youth Theatre 2010’, competing with other youth theatre producctions with the chance to follow in Billy’s footsteps and perform in London’s West End!
The heart-warming story of the boy whose love of dancing threatened to tear not only his family but whole communities apart started life on the big screen in 2000 and hit the West End stage in 2005. Since then it has captured the hearts of millions worldwide, winning 10 Tony Awards, including the prestigious ‘Best Musical’, for the team of writer Lee Hall, composer Sir Elton John and director Stephen Daldry.
