THE DRESSER

THE DRESSER

This heart-warming tale of friendship in the theatre comes from Oscar winning writer, Ronald Harwood (The Pianist) and tells the story of an elderly Shakespearean actor and his devoted dresser.

One fateful night during World War II, the troupe prepares for the 227th performance of King Lear when the leading actor is struck down by illness.  He fails to remember his lines or even the play they are about to perform. The struggle and chaos that ensues as he attempts to get ready for the stage gives him cause to reflect as he seeks to resolve his relationships with those that mean the most to him before the final curtain falls.
