BUDDY - THE CONCERT - Theatre Royal Windsor

What's On

Buddy- The Concert, here in Windsor for one week only, 3 – 7 April!

As you may know, our theatre benefits greatly both artistically and financially from our producing partner Bill Kenwright Ltd. Bill is not only the most prolific theatre producer in the UK, he is undisputedly the master of all things 50’s rock ‘n’ roll! He has offered to throw in his team who have been responsible recently for all of his musicals from This Is Elvis to Cilla the Musical, via the Sound of Music, Ghost the musical, and Evita. And they will stage their own Buddy Holly event for you that will start this Tuesday.

The new “Buddy Holly” will come in two halves. Before the interval legendary DJ and musical mastermind (and star of last year’s panto) Mike Read will narrate the true story of Buddy Holly as Buddy and The Crickets recreate their hits. The second half will be devoted to Buddy’s final performance at the Surf Ballroom Clear lake Iowa.

One of the West End’s favourite “Buddy’s” Ed Handoll will revive his starring role here in Windsor, where he is backed by his famous Crickets in the first half. In the second half the Surf Ballroom concert will include featured sets from Dion and the Belmonts, The Big Bopper, Ritchie Valens and of course Buddy Holly.

This brand new show produced exclusively for the Theatre Royal will be packed with all the greatest hits from 'That’ll Be The Day' to 'It Doesn’t matter Anymore', and including 'Rave On', 'Oh Boy', 'Peggy Sue', and of course 'Running Bear', 'La Bamba', 'Chantilly Lace', 'Runaround Sue', 'Teenager In Love' and many more that will have you dancing in the aisles.
