SLEEPING BEAUTY - Theatre Royal Windsor

What's On

The pin has finally dropped!  We have spun together a dazzling cast to perform in this year’s enchanting pantomime, SLEEPING BEAUTY (29 November 2017 - 7 January 2018). Who we hear you cry….Oh yes even The Doctor is part of the cast!

Everyone’s foxy favourite and the face of Children’s television for over 50 years, returns to Windsor's panto. Basil is a celebrity in high demand and often shows up in the most unexpected places. Recent television appearances include The One ShowThe Weakest Link (which he won!), Blue Peter and many more. Famed for his ‘Boom’-ing laugh and cheeky charm, Basil is sure to delight all audiences as the lovable Lord Chamberlain alongside King Clifford of Windsornia.

King Clifford, father of our cursed Beauty, will be played by broadcasting legend, BBC Radio 1 DJ, Mike Read. Mike was a fixture on Saturday morning TV and is best known for Saturday Superstore , Pop Quiz  and Top of the Pops

Sprinkling her magic across the stage and stunning audiences with her 5 * voice will be Denise Pearson as Fairy Fancy. The former lead singer and songwriter of Grammy-winning band, 5 Star has achieved 15 top 40 singles with the likes of ‘Rain or Shine’, ‘System Addict’ and ‘Can’t Wait Another Minute’Denise has a number of successes to her name in the West End and was mentored by Tom Jones in a recent series of The Voice.

Fairy Fancy’s arch-enemy, the evil Carabosse will be played by the villainous ‘Vixen’, Bolton Brainiac and ITV’s sassiest Chaser, Jenny Ryan. Jenny has featured on University Challenge, Mastermind and Only Connect. Jenny and her fellow Chasers were thrilled to win BBC1's Let's Sing & Dance For Comic Relief performing a medley from The Wizard Of Oz earlier this year!

Attempting to tame Carabosse’s dragon in his ninth Windsor panto will be Nurse Paloma Pinchme, our resident Dame (and writer!) Steven Blakeley, best known for the role of PC Geoff Younger in Heartbeat. Jesting alongside him, comic clutz, Chester the Jester will be played by Kevin Cruise. The Britain’s Got Talent finalist sails back to Windsor for his eighth panto!

And last by not least, the dragon… (look out for him lurking on the canopy outside the theatre) will be voiced by the one, the only, Tom Baker- best known as the longest running Doctor Who, and more recently for the narration of the hit comedy series Little Britain!
